Cashfree Payments, a leading Indian payments and API banking company, has announced the appointment of Piyush Anchliya as its new CFO (Chief Financial Officer). In this key leadership role, Anchliya will drive the company’s financial strategy, improve operational efficiency, and guide its next stage of strategic growth. He will report directly to Akash Sinha, the CEO and co-founder of Cashfree Payments.

The appointment of Anchliya comes shortly after Cashfree Payments raised $53 million, or about Rs 450 crore, in a major funding round led by gaming giant KRAFTON. Existing investor Apis Growth Fund II, managed by Apis Partners Group, also participated in this round. The investment signals investor confidence in the fintech firm’s potential and plans for further growth.

Piyush Anchliya Brings Over 15 Years of Experience

Piyush Anchliya is a highly experienced finance leader with more than 15 years of experience across India and the United States. His work spans investment banking, corporate finance, business strategy, and mergers and acquisitions. He has held top positions at global firms such as Barclays and Indian financial groups including IDFC and Bandhan. Before joining Cashfree, he served as the CFO at Bandhan AMC, earlier known as IDFC Asset Management Company.

Anchliya’s academic background includes a B.Tech. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. He is recognized for his strategic thinking and expertise in managing finances in both public and private markets. His knowledge of sustainable business growth makes him a strong addition to Cashfree’s leadership team.

Cashfree CEO Welcomes Anchliya

Akash Sinha, CEO and co-founder of Cashfree Payments, expressed his excitement about the new appointment. He highlighted that Anchliya’s experience in the financial services sector will play an essential role in scaling the company sustainably. Sinha also thanked the outgoing CFO, Vikas Guru, for his important contributions to the company and his ongoing support during the transition.

On joining the company, Anchliya shared his enthusiasm about becoming part of a growing fintech company like Cashfree Payments. He said this is the perfect time to join as the firm continues to lead innovation in India’s fintech space. Anchliya aims to focus on strategic goals, deliver value to stakeholders, and help Cashfree become a strong payments partner for businesses across India.

Payment Brand Prepares for Next Phase

With the new CFO in place and strong investor backing, Cashfree Payments is set to move into its next chapter of growth. The company plans to deepen its fintech offerings and continue building a reliable payment platform for businesses of all sizes.
