Zepto, the fast-growing quick commerce unicorn, has introduced the new feature of a 10-minute instant return and exchange service for select products. The company announced this new feature through a LinkedIn post, highlighting its commitment to improving customer convenience. The service applies to electronics, apparel, toys, sports equipment, and kitchenware categories.
Customers purchasing items in eligible categories can return or exchange them within different time frames, depending on the product type. The return windows include 1-day, 3-day, or 7-day options, giving shoppers flexibility based on their needs. This move comes after Blinkit, owned by Zomato, introduced a similar 10-minute return service in October 2024.
Zepto Instant Return Feature
Currently, Zepto’s instant return and exchange service is available in major metropolitan areas, including Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune. The company plans to expand this feature to more cities in the coming months as part of its growth strategy.
Quick commerce platforms have typically focused on delivering groceries and daily essentials, with limited attention to reverse logistics. However, as companies like Zepto expand into high-value categories such as electronics and fashion, they are now enhancing their return and exchange policies to offer a smoother shopping experience.
Zepto Lite: A Faster Shopping Option
In addition to its new return service, Zepto is also strengthening its presence with Zepto Lite, a service designed for ultra-fast deliveries of daily essentials at even lower prices. Zepto Lite focuses on smaller orders, providing quick access to groceries, beverages, snacks, and personal care items with delivery times as fast as 5-7 minutes.
This service is targeted at consumers looking for budget-friendly options with the same speed and convenience that Zepto is known for. By introducing Zepto Lite, the company aims to further penetrate the quick commerce market and cater to a wider audience with varying shopping needs.
Rise of Quick Commerce
The introduction of instant returns and exchanges marks a shift in the quick commerce industry. Traditionally, platforms like Zepto focused on groceries and household goods, but the demand for fast delivery in other retail categories is growing.
By adding electronics, fashion, and other high-value items to its inventory, Zepto is positioning itself as a one-stop shopping destination. This expansion strategy is also aimed at increasing the average cart value, making the platform more profitable while enhancing customer satisfaction.
What’s Next for Zepto?
With the growing trend of ultra-fast commerce, Zepto is expected to continue innovating. The company is likely to refine its logistics network, expand its product range, and introduce more customer-friendly features. As competition in the quick commerce space intensifies, Zepto’s move into reverse logistics could set a new industry standard.
