Magicpin Becomes Largest Food Delivery Seller App on ONDC

Magicpin, India’s third-largest food delivery app, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the largest food delivery seller on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). As of September 2024, Magicpin is handling a remarkable 1,50,000 daily food and logistics orders on ONDC. The platform’s success has been driven by a strong increase in partnerships with restaurants, growing from 22,000 to 70,000 in just over a year.

Magicpin joined the ONDC network in March 2023, and since then, the company has experienced rapid growth. In just the first four weeks, Magicpin scaled its orders from 100 to 10,000 in May 2023. Fast forward to September 2024, and the company is processing 150,000 orders daily.

Market Share Expansion

Anshoo Sharma, Co-Founder of Magicpin, expressed pride in the company’s market share expansion across major cities. “In the last 15 months, we have captured a double-digit market share, including more than 10 per cent in key markets like Delhi and Bengaluru,” Sharma said. Magicpin has now become a vital player on ONDC, fulfilling 90 per cent of food orders placed through prominent buyer apps such as Paytm, Tata Neu, and Ola.

Magicpin’s recent success has been driven in part by its software as a service (SaaS) offering called “Magicpin in a box,” which powers the front end of other buyer apps. Additionally, the company has launched Velocity, its delivery as a service (DaaS) product, to handle hyperlocal deliveries. This service is already being used by major brands like KFC, Burger King, and IGP gifting.

Magicpin Expansion Plans

To further solidify its position, Magicpin recently announced an investment of Rs 100 crore aimed at bringing 1 lakh new restaurants and cloud kitchens onto ONDC. The company is offering a variety of onboarding incentives to new partners, including zero commission, zero onboarding fees, major discounts, and free home delivery. Magicpin has also launched a self-onboarding tool, allowing small and medium-sized food merchants to join the network in under 5 minutes.

Magicpin’s strategic investments and rapid growth on the ONDC network showcase its commitment to becoming the top food delivery service in India. By continuously expanding its offerings and making it easier for restaurants to join the platform, Magicpin is poised to maintain its dominant position in the food delivery market.
