Amagi Media Labs Files DRHP for Rs 1,020 Crore IPO

Share post:

Amagi Media Labs Ltd., a Bengaluru-based cloud broadcast technology company, has filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with SEBI. The company plans to raise up to Rs 1,020 crore through fresh equity shares in its upcoming IPO.

The offering also includes an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 3.41 crore shares by current investors such as Accel, Norwest Venture Partners, Avataar Ventures, and PI Opportunities Fund. Additionally, Amagi may consider a pre-IPO placement worth Rs 204 crore, which could lower the fresh issue amount.

Grows Global Presence

Founded in 2008 by Baskar Subramanian, Srividhya Srinivasan, and Arunachalam Srinivasan Karapattu, Amagi helps media companies manage, distribute, and monetize video content using the cloud. Its platform supports Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST), OTT services, and connected TV networks.

With clients including over 45% of the world’s top 50 media firms, Amagi is a trusted name in streaming tech. The company’s largest market is the US, but it has also expanded its reach in Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Funds Future Growth

Amagi will use most of the fresh capital around Rs 667 crore to invest in advanced technology and cloud infrastructure. The rest will support acquisitions and general business needs, aiming to keep the company ahead in the fast-growing streaming market.

Amagi has already raised about $360 million from investors like General Atlantic, Premji Invest, and Avataar Ventures. Major shareholders are now planning partial exits through the OFS, including Accel selling over 60 lakh shares and Norwest and PI Funds offloading around 79 lakh and 99 lakh shares, respectively.

Financial Performance

The company’s revenue rose to Rs 1,162 crore in FY25, growing at an impressive 30.7% CAGR since FY23. Amagi also turned its adjusted EBITDA margin positive at 2.02% in FY25, after negative margins in the two earlier years.

Notably, Amagi reduced its losses to Rs 68.7 crore in FY25 from Rs 245 crore in FY24, a drop of over 70%. This turnaround reflects its focus on profitability while investing in innovation.
