Share post:

SRIVARU Holding Limited, a leading manufacturer of premium electric motorcycles, has introduced the new PRANA 2.0 electric motorcycle at a major event in Chennai, India. This launch marks a significant step forward for SRIVARU as the company aims to capitalize on India’s rapidly growing electric vehicle (EV) market.

A New Era for Electric Motorcycles in India

India is witnessing a surge in demand for electric motorcycles, especially among younger riders. SRIVARU has taken note of this trend and developed the PRANA 2.0 to meet the needs of these emerging consumers. The PRANA 2.0 comes equipped with cutting-edge features and advanced technology that promise to set a new standard in electric mobility.

SRIVARU’s founder and CEO, Mohanraj Ramasamy, highlighted the importance of the Indian market during the launch event. He stated that Tamil Nadu, particularly Chennai, is becoming a hub for electric vehicle demand, accounting for over 40% of India’s EV market. As the country pushes for sustainable growth and cleaner energy alternatives, electric motorcycles are expected to make up half of the total motorcycle market by 2030.

PRANA 2.0: A Technological Marvel

The PRANA 2.0 has undergone two years of rigorous testing and comes packed with over 100 new components compared to the previous model. According to SRIVARU’s Director of Engineering, Yuvaraj Sankar, the PRANA 2.0 is designed to offer unparalleled performance. With a top speed of 123 kmph, a high-performance battery, and four driving modes, the PRANA 2.0 offers an effortless riding experience. It also features a mobile app that provides real-time tracking and diagnostics, ensuring riders always stay connected with their vehicle.

The motorcycle’s ergonomic seating design and smoother suspension provide comfort on the road, while the colorful display adds to the overall user experience. A standout feature is the reverse mode, which assists riders in parking.

Future of Electric Mobility in India

SRIVARU aims to play a leading role in India’s shift toward electric vehicles. The Indian government has set ambitious goals to turn the nation into a developed economy by 2047, with a strong focus on alternative energy sources. Electric vehicles are central to this strategy, especially given the country’s limited natural oil resources and increasing environmental concerns.

In 2023, India’s motorcycle market was valued at over USD 25.6 billion, with forecasts predicting growth to USD 36.1 billion by 2027. With electric motorcycles currently holding a 3% market share, SRIVARU is poised to take advantage of the sector’s projected growth.

Expanding Production and Market Reach

SRIVARU’s production facility in Coimbatore has been operational since 2017, producing over 2,000 units each month. With advanced automated assembly and testing lines in place, the company is ready to scale up production to meet the growing demand for electric motorcycles in India.

The PRANA 2.0 is expected to revolutionize the electric motorcycle industry, offering an innovative and affordable alternative to traditional bikes. SRIVARU is committed to delivering sustainable, high-performance vehicles that meet the needs of modern riders while also contributing to a greener, low-carbon economy.
