Marriott India Marks 11 Years of Its ‘Road to Give’ Initiative

The Marriott India Business Council has marked the 11th year of its regional philanthropic initiative, Road to Give, with widespread participation across India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka. What began over a decade ago as a modest campaign linking health and charity within the hospitality group has evolved into a regional movement promoting wellness, empathy, and community engagement.

This year’s edition drew over 10,000 participants — including associates, partners, and community members — who joined runs, walks, and cycling events held at Marriott hotels throughout the region. The 2025 campaign raised more than Rs 1 crore, which will support the Rising Star Outreach of India, a Chennai-based non-profit organization dedicated to rehabilitating individuals and families affected by leprosy through education, healthcare, and vocational training.

Collective Purpose

The Road to Give initiative underscores Marriott’s commitment to social welfare and employee involvement in meaningful charitable causes. Participating hotels organized wellness events, volunteer programs, and community activities aimed at fostering a sense of solidarity and promoting physical and social well-being.

At the Mumbai chapter, held on October 11, 2025, at The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake, over 650 participants took part in a charity run representing teams from different Marriott properties across the city. The event served as a platform for collaboration, awareness, and advocacy for community-focused charitable projects.

Sanjay Gupta, Chairman of the Marriott India Business Council, highlighted the emotional and social resonance of the initiative. “Each year, Road to Give reminds us of the extraordinary power of collective purpose,” he said. “We celebrate not just the funds raised or the miles covered, but the compassion and unity that drive our associates to engage with their communities.”

Culture of Giving and Inclusion

Over the years, Road to Give has become an integral part of Marriott’s organizational culture across South Asia. It encourages associates to adopt a proactive approach to wellness and inclusion while reinforcing the principle of giving back to society. The council’s sustained focus on community engagement underlines its vision of creating a more compassionate workplace that supports sustainable social causes.

According to organizers, the campaign’s expansion across multiple countries reflects the growing participation of Marriott’s network of hotels and the enthusiasm of associates to contribute toward impactful social projects. Funds raised in previous years have supported local NGOs and community rehabilitation programs, aligning with Marriott’s global emphasis on corporate social responsibility.

The council expressed gratitude to its partners and participants for the success of the 2025 edition and reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the initiative in the coming years. With every edition, Road to Give strengthens the connection between corporate wellness and social advocacy — using collective movement to drive meaningful change.
