Soma Bose Launches Second Book, I’ve Had Enough of You

Mumbai: Acclaimed author Soma Bose launched her much-awaited second book, I’ve Had Enough of You, at a glittering event in Mumbai. The book, a collection of five short stories, delves into themes of love, loss, empowerment, and societal expectations. The event attracted the attention of Mumbai’s glitterati, marking an important milestone in Bose’s literary journey.

Book Launch Highlights

The event began with an engaging reading session, where celebrated actors Suchitra Pillai, Joy Sengupta, and Sid Makkar captivated the audience by reading selected passages from the book. Their performances brought the emotional depth of Bose’s stories to life, leaving the audience moved by their renditions.

Following this, a panel discussion took place with Soma Bose, sociologist Dr. Reena Agarwal, author Nandita Puri, and Joy Sengupta. The discussion, moderated by veteran journalist Roshmila Bhattacharya, centered on the challenges faced by modern writers, especially when it comes to publishing short stories. The panel also reflected on the golden age of television, where short stories had a significant presence.

Unveiling of the Book

The highlight of the evening was the official unveiling of I’ve Had Enough of You by National Award-winning director Srijit Mukherji and celebrated actor Swastika Mukherjee. In a conversation moderated by Roshmila Bhattacharya, they discussed the book’s themes of women’s empowerment, societal expectations, and resilience. Both praised Soma Bose for her storytelling and expressed their hopes that the book would soon be adapted for OTT platforms or the big screen.

A Journey of Empowerment

I’ve Had Enough of You follows the success of Bose’s debut book, Frenny and Other Women You Have Met, which received widespread acclaim. Soma Bose continues to focus on empowering women through her writing, exploring strength, perseverance, and equality.

At the event, Bose shared her personal connection to the book’s title, saying it came to her during a period of intense time with her husband. She expressed gratitude for the support from her publishers, Virasat, and thanked Chaity Ghosh and Subhojit Roy for their guidance.

With the release of this book, Bose continues her advocacy for women’s stories and social awareness.
