The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Government of India, has joined hands with Kyndryl Solutions Pvt. Ltd. to promote innovation and digital growth in the manufacturing and IT startup ecosystem. This partnership formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to equip startups with the tools and mentorship needed to thrive in a competitive market.

With the growing demand for digital transformation and advanced technologies, the partnership seeks to strengthen India’s manufacturing and IT startups by offering technological support, mentorship, and access to large-scale enterprise solutions. Startups will also be encouraged to adopt next-gen innovations, including Generative AI (GenAI), to accelerate their growth and expansion across industries.

Focus on Manufacturing, IT, and More

The DPIIT-Kyndryl collaboration will primarily focus on startups operating in key industries such as automotive, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, banking and financial services, and government services. By developing advanced digital solutions, these startups will be better equipped to integrate their innovations into enterprise-level systems.

The initiative will also guide startups on product development, cybersecurity resilience, and strategies for scaling up their operations internationally. The overarching goal is to enhance the global competitiveness of Indian startups while fostering technological innovation across sectors.

Enterprise Support for Startups

Kyndryl plans to launch specialized programs tailored to digital product startups and AI-driven businesses. Startups will benefit from one-on-one mentorship sessions designed to improve their products and help them deploy their solutions on an enterprise scale.

In addition, Kyndryl will organize advisory sessions and industry workshops to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience for startups. DPIIT and Startup India will also provide support by sharing insights on government policies and offering access to government-backed incentives.

Innovation-Driven Startup Ecosystem

According to Shri Sanjiv, Joint Secretary at DPIIT, this partnership marks a significant step toward building a more innovation-driven startup ecosystem in India. By leveraging Kyndryl’s global expertise in digital transformation, the initiative will help accelerate the growth of Indian startups, particularly those focusing on cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, Director at DPIIT, along with a senior representative from Kyndryl. The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from both DPIIT and Kyndryl, highlighting the importance of this collaboration.

Digital Innovation for Indian Startups

The DPIIT-Kyndryl partnership aims to unlock new opportunities for startups by providing them with enterprise-level mentorship, digital resources, and technological guidance. As India’s startup ecosystem continues to expand, initiatives like this will play a crucial role in shaping a more innovative, competitive, and globally recognized startup landscape.
