Zomato Introduces New Order Scheduling Feature

Share post:

Zomato has rolled out a new order feature that allows users to schedule their food deliveries in advance. Customers can now plan their orders for delivery anywhere from two hours to two days ahead of time, according to media reports. This feature is designed to give users more flexibility and control over when they receive their meals, especially during busy periods.

Feature Launch During Festive Season

The timing of this new feature is notable as it comes during the festive season, a period when food delivery demand usually spikes. Many people order food for family gatherings, parties, and other celebrations, so being able to schedule deliveries in advance can make the process smoother and more convenient.

In addition to this launch, Zomato has also raised its delivery fee for the fourth time this year, increasing it by Rs 10. This change may impact how users approach their orders, making the scheduling feature even more valuable for customers who want to avoid high-demand times.

Competing with Swiggy

Zomato’s new feature brings it in line with its main competitor, Swiggy, which has offered a similar service since 2018 called ‘Swiggy Scheduled.’ This allows Swiggy users to plan meal deliveries in advance, and now Zomato users have the same convenience. The addition of this feature can help Zomato attract more users who prefer to plan their meals ahead of time and ensure timely deliveries.

Benefits of the New Feature

This feature is especially useful for individuals who have busy schedules, work commitments, or plan ahead for special occasions. By allowing customers to set a preferred delivery time, Zomato is focusing on providing greater convenience and improving the overall user experience.

Whether it’s for a late-night snack or a family dinner, customers can now rely on Zomato to bring their food at the exact time they want, making food delivery more organized and stress-free.
