Quick commerce unicorn Zepto has stepped into India’s epharmacy sector with the launch of Zepto Pharmacy, promising 10-minute medicine delivery in select parts of Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, and Hyderabad.
CEO and co-founder Aadit Palicha revealed on LinkedIn that the company has spent the past 12 months refining customer experience, improving supply chain efficiency, and ensuring regulatory compliance before launching at scale.
Focus on Quality
Palicha emphasised that Zepto is taking a measured approach to growth in this complex category. “Our goal is to keep standards extremely high and not scale too fast,” he said.
He added that if executed well, Zepto Pharmacy could significantly improve access to essential medicines, making them available when people need them most.
Rising Competition
Zepto’s move comes amid a wave of diversification by quick commerce companies beyond groceries. Blinkit recently began testing its own medicine delivery service in Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, Swiggy Instamart partnered with PharmEasy, and players like PhonePe’s Pincode and Flipkart are exploring pharmacy integrations. Established brands such as Tata 1mg and Apollo 24/7 are also experimenting with faster delivery models.

Growing Market Potential
India’s epharmacy sector is expected to be worth $12.7 billion by 2033, driven by rapid urbanisation, smartphone adoption, and growing demand for convenience in healthcare.
Newer entrants like Plazza and Farmako are also tapping into this opportunity, offering 30-minute deliveries in major cities. Zepto aims to outpace these rivals with its 10-minute promise.
Industry Growth
The launch of Zepto Pharmacy coincides with a period of strong financial growth for the company. Zepto’s revenue jumped 150% in FY25 to Rs 11,110 crore from Rs 4,454 crore in FY24, reflecting its expanding customer base and diversified services.
This momentum could give Zepto a strong foothold in the competitive epharmacy space as it scales operations strategically.
