Reliance Retail Joins Delta Galil to Transform Apparel Market

Indian retail giant Reliance Retail Ventures has announced a significant partnership with Israel-based Delta Galil Industries Ltd to reshape the apparel market in India. Founded in 1975, Delta Galil is a global leader in manufacturing and marketing branded and private label apparel for men, women, and children. It also designs and sells premium denim, activewear, and intimate apparel under various renowned brands like 7 For All Mankind and Splendid, as well as licensed names such as adidas, Wolford, and Tommy Hilfiger.

Apparel Innovation Platform

The joint venture between Reliance Retail and Delta Galil, set at 50/50 ownership, is expected to redefine the Indian apparel industry. The partnership aims to create an apparel innovation platform focused on addressing the specific needs of Indian consumers. Through this venture, Delta Galil will expand its footprint in India’s rapidly growing retail space, offering its well-known intimate apparel and activewear brands through retail, wholesale, and digital channels.

Additionally, Delta Galil will assist in the design and manufacturing of products for Reliance Retail’s established brands, helping to enhance their offerings in the intimate apparel and activewear categories.

Subramaniam, Managing Director of Reliance Retail Ventures, shared his excitement about the collaboration, noting, “Delta Galil’s expertise in intimate apparel and activewear aligns perfectly with our vision of delivering high-quality and innovative products to Indian customers.” The partnership is expected to elevate consumer options across Reliance Retail’s extensive platforms.

On the other hand, Isaac Dabah, CEO of Delta Galil, highlighted the strategic significance of partnering with Reliance Retail, one of the world’s fastest-growing retailers. Dabah noted, “This collaboration will enable us to blend our design and manufacturing prowess with Reliance Retail’s strong retail and distribution network, accelerating growth in the Indian intimate apparel and activewear segments.”

Future Plans for Growth

In the coming 18 months, the partnership will see the launch of Delta family lifestyle stores in India and the introduction of the Athena brand for men’s and women’s intimates. The joint venture between these two global giants is set to offer Indian consumers an elevated apparel shopping experience, emphasizing quality, innovation, and comfort.
