Lenskart Launches Spanish Eyewear Brand Meller in India

Share post:

Lenskart has introduced the Spanish sunglasses brand Meller to the Indian market, several months after acquiring the Barcelona-based label. The launch forms part of the company’s broader plan to expand its premium and design-led portfolio across India. With growing interest in global eyewear trends, the company aims to position Meller as a key offering for fashion-forward customers.

Lenskart Brings Meller

Meller, originally founded in Barcelona, has built a strong presence across Europe and the United States. The brand has been particularly popular among Gen Z and Millennial consumers, who appreciate bold silhouettes and contemporary styling. Under Stellio Ventures, Meller reported revenue of ₹2,720 million in FY25 and an EBITDA of ₹443 million, reflecting the brand’s stable margins within its direct-to-consumer model.

The brand’s India entry will include the complete sunglasses range, available through Lenskart’s app, website and physical stores. Nearly 500 stores have been selected for the first rollout based on GeoIQ intelligence, covering locations with higher predicted demand for fashion-driven eyewear.

Portfolio Expansion Focus

Lenskart already operates several design-led brands, including John Jacobs, Owndays and Le Petit Lunetier. The company’s long-term plan is to build a global house of eyewear labels capable of serving diverse consumer preferences and evolving style expectations. The addition of Meller is expected to deepen the company’s reach in the premium and fashion eyewear category.

The company plans to support these brands through its supply chain infrastructure, manufacturing capabilities and omnichannel distribution network. As global tastes shift towards expressive eyewear designs, Lenskart sees growing potential for expanding its international brand roster.

Peyush Bansal, co-founder and CEO of Lenskart, said that Meller’s strong direct-to-consumer foundation and distinctive design identity make it a promising global brand. He stated that Lenskart’s distribution scale and technology platforms will support its accelerated growth in India, and added that the company aims to develop the next generation of global eyewear labels.

Market Opportunities Rise

Marco Grandi Blanch, co-CEO of Meller, said the brand’s evolution has been shaped by the preferences of younger buyers who want expressive and trend-driven eyewear. He noted that India represents a significant opportunity for further expansion due to its rising interest in fashion-centric brands and broader consumer base.

The decision to bring Meller to India strengthens Lenskart’s strategy of building a globally relevant eyewear portfolio for the coming decade. As customers increasingly explore international designs, the company expects higher traction for brands that offer a balance of style, quality and affordability.

With its bold designs and established international following, Meller is expected to attract an audience looking for distinct fashion eyewear options. Lenskart’s retail footprint and technological capabilities are expected to play a key role in establishing the brand across major Indian cities.

Meller Sunglasses

Meller sunglasses are known for their bold silhouettes, vibrant colours and contemporary aesthetics that appeal to younger, trend-driven consumers. The brand has gained popularity in Europe and the US for offering affordable yet stylish eyewear rooted in a strong direct-to-consumer model. With its entry into India through Lenskart, the brand is expected to introduce new design choices and expand the premium sunglasses category for urban Indian shoppers.
