Agri-Tech Startup Arya.ag Raises ₹725 Crore in New Funding

Share post:

Arya.ag, an integrated grain commerce platform, has raised Rs 725 crore, or about $80.58 million, in a Series D funding round led by GEF Capital Partners. The investment marks one of the larger recent fundraises in India’s agritech sector.

The company said the new capital will be used to deepen engagement with farmers and farmer producer organisations, with a focus on encouraging climate-smart and market-linked agricultural practices. Efforts will also be directed towards helping small and marginal farmers manage climate and price-related risks through technology-led solutions.

Arya.ag plans to deploy part of the funding to reduce post-harvest losses both at the farm level and across the broader agriculture supply chain. Loss reduction remains a key challenge in India, particularly for grain producers operating with limited storage and market access.

Platform and Model

Founded in 2013 by Prasanna Rao, Anand Chandra and Chattanathan Devarajan, Arya.ag was set up to address trust and transparency gaps in Indian agriculture. The company operates an integrated model that covers services from pre-harvest advisory to post-harvest storage, finance and market linkage.

Through its network of Smart Farm Centres and digital tools, the platform supports farmers and farmer collectives in making informed decisions about storage, financing and timing of sales. This approach is aimed at helping producers realise better prices and more stable incomes over time.

The company’s services are designed to link physical infrastructure such as warehouses with data-driven insights, enabling farmers to participate more effectively in organised markets. Arya.ag said this integration helps improve efficiency across the value chain while lowering dependence on informal channels.

Use of Funds

The latest funding round is expected to support the expansion of these services across more regions. Arya.ag said it will focus on strengthening farm-level adoption of technology and scaling products that reward sustainable practices at the point of sale.

India’s agriculture sector employs more than 60% of the workforce, while a significant share of farming households still lacks access to formal credit. Arya.ag positions its offering as a response to this gap by combining storage, instant finance and transparent market access.

The company said its model allows farmers to access credit against stored produce and use data insights to choose optimal selling windows. This is intended to reduce distress sales and exposure to price volatility.

Financial Performance

Arya.ag stated that it is currently profitable. In the first half of FY26, the company reported net revenue of Rs 300 crore, representing a year-on-year growth of 28%. Profit for the period rose 39% to Rs 31.5 crore.

Operationally, the platform is active in around 60% of Indian districts. It manages a network of approximately 12,000 agri-warehouses and stores close to $3 billion worth of grain annually. The company has also facilitated more than $1.5 billion in agricultural loans through its ecosystem.

Avendus Capital acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Arya.ag for the Series D transaction. Advisory support was provided by PwC, JSA and Aeka.

The funding comes amid growing investor interest in agritech platforms that combine physical infrastructure with digital services. As climate risks and market volatility increase, solutions focused on resilience, transparency and efficiency are drawing attention from both domestic and global investors.

With the latest capital infusion, Arya.ag is expected to scale its operations further and strengthen its role in India’s evolving agricultural supply chain, while continuing to focus on profitability and sustainable growth.
