Sindhuu Govindarajan Joins Tata Consumer as VP of Foods

Sindhuu Govindarajan, a seasoned professional from the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, has joined Tata Consumer Products Limited (TCPL) as Vice President of its Foods division. The appointment adds leadership strength to the company’s rapidly expanding foods portfolio.

Govindarajan previously served with Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), one of India’s leading consumer goods companies. She brings extensive marketing, product management, and business leadership experience to her new role at TCPL. The leadership appointment comes as Tata Consumer continues to widen its presence across packaged foods and ready-to-eat categories.

In a LinkedIn post announcing her transition, Govindarajan expressed gratitude for her journey at HUL. Her post reflected fondness for the culture and learning she gained while working with one of India’s most prominent FMCG organizations.

Govindarajan also acknowledged the mentorship and support she received from colleagues over the years, noting how those experiences have shaped her professional approach and leadership outlook.

At Tata Consumer Products, Govindarajan will oversee initiatives aimed at strengthening the company’s foods division — an area that includes brands across staples, packaged meals, and value-added products. Her role is expected to contribute to product innovation, portfolio expansion, and market competitiveness.

Referring to a quote by former HUL CEO Sanjiv Mehta in her announcement post, Govindarajan described her move as “from one great organisation to another, continuing to be at the heart of the India growth story.” The statement underscores optimism about contributing to the evolving landscape of India’s consumer products industry.
