Sidharth Shakdher Joins Paytm as New Business Head

Sidharth Shakdher, former Chief Business Officer (CBO) at Ola Mobility, has now taken on a new role at Paytm as its Business Head. In this position, he will closely work with Vijay Shekhar Sharma, the founder and CEO of Paytm, to drive the company’s growth and focus on increasing profitability. Shakdher’s extensive experience in managing business operations, marketing, and revenue growth will be key to his new responsibilities at Paytm.

Key Achievements at Ola Mobility

Shakdher’s time at Ola Mobility, although only nine months, was marked by several important achievements. He successfully led the core mobility business towards profitability, proving his ability to manage and grow business operations efficiently.

One of his major initiatives at Ola was launching the consumer loans division, giving the company a new revenue stream. Additionally, he introduced the ONDC food delivery service, which is part of India’s effort to promote digital commerce.

He also played a central role in the development of the Ola Loyalty Program, called Ola Coin, aimed at improving customer retention and loyalty. His leadership extended to overseeing business growth, revenue, and marketing across both domestic and international markets.

Shakdher’s Experience Before Ola

Before his time at Ola, Shakdher held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Disney+ Hotstar. He was a part of the founding leadership team, helping to shape the platform’s marketing strategies and its expansion into international markets.

Shakdher also has experience working with Amazon, where he managed marketing and growth for the company’s US third-party marketplace. He was also a Category Marketing Head at Reckitt Benckiser, where he was instrumental in establishing Dettol in the US personal care market.

New Challenge at Paytm

At Paytm, Shakdher will now take on a new challenge to further strengthen the company’s business growth. His experience with multiple leading companies makes him well-positioned to help Paytm expand while staying focused on profitability. His diverse background in mobility, marketing, and digital platforms is expected to play a vital role in Paytm’s next phase of development.
