NetApp Appoints Vasanthi Ramesh as Managing Director of India Operations

NetApp, the U.S.-based company specializing in data management and storage solutions, has announced the promotion of Vasanthi Ramesh to Managing Director for its India operations. In this new role, she will lead the company’s efforts to drive growth and innovation in the region while continuing her work as Vice President of Engineering, Unified Manageability Framework.

Vasanthi Ramesh’s Career Journey

Vasanthi Ramesh brings nearly 30 years of experience in enterprise software and consumer technology to her new role in NetApp. Over the years, she has made significant contributions to NetApp’s portfolio, focusing on data management and protection solutions. She has also worked on creating solutions for both traditional data centers and public cloud environments, demonstrating her deep expertise in managing complex data infrastructures.

Responsibilities and Strategic Focus

As the new Managing Director, Ramesh will oversee NetApp’s operations in India, driving initiatives aimed at fostering technological growth and innovation. She will be responsible for leading programs like the NetApp Excellerator and Academia Connect, which focus on developing partnerships and supporting the growth of technology in the region.

Ramesh will also work on strengthening NetApp’s relationships with key platforms and industry organizations, including NASSCOM, to increase the company’s visibility in India’s fast-growing tech sector.

Innovation in India’s Growth

Ramesh’s appointment comes at a time when India’s technology industry is expanding rapidly, with AI and intelligent data solutions becoming increasingly important. Under her leadership, NetApp plans to continue expanding its presence in India and providing advanced data solutions to clients in the region. The company remains focused on leveraging India’s dynamic market to drive technological innovation and growth.

Vision for the Future

Ramesh holds two master’s degrees—one in Statistics from the University of Hyderabad and another in Computer Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Reflecting on her new role, she shared her excitement: “It’s an honor to take on this role, and I look forward to leading the next phase of NetApp’s growth in India.”

With her extensive experience and leadership, Ramesh is set to play a key role in strengthening NetApp’s position in India’s competitive technology sector.
