Mastercard has announced that Jill Kramer will be joining the company as its Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, effective December 1, 2025. The appointment follows the transition of Raja Rajamannar, who has been serving in the role, to a new position as senior fellow for Mastercard.

The leadership change was confirmed by Mastercard on Tuesday, marking a significant step in its global marketing strategy. Industry observers say the move indicates the company’s focus on strengthening its communication outreach and brand consistency.

Raja Rajamannar as CMCO

Raja Rajamannar, who has been a prominent figure in Mastercard’s transformation over the past decade, will continue to be associated with the company in a senior advisory capacity. Under his leadership, Mastercard earned recognition as one of the most admired global brands.

Commenting on the transition, Mastercard Chief Executive Officer Michael Miebach acknowledged Rajamannar’s creative impact and long-term contributions. He described the outgoing marketing chief as an influential leader whose work set high standards in brand innovation and customer engagement.

Experience and Achievements

Jill Kramer brings more than two decades of experience in global marketing and communications. She most recently served as Accenture’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, where she led a technology-driven marketing function responsible for global brand growth and positioning. During her tenure, Accenture’s brand value nearly doubled, according to Interbrand’s annual ranking.

Before joining Accenture in 2015, Kramer held senior positions at leading global advertising agencies BBDO and DDB. She directed business-to-business brand development and digital marketing initiatives for major brands such as AT&T and ExxonMobil, earning several industry recognitions for her creative leadership.

Strategic Focus for Next Chapter

Kramer’s appointment reflects Mastercard’s aim to continue its momentum in marketing innovation and digital transformation. CEO Michael Miebach said that her global perspective and deep B2B marketing knowledge would be vital for the company’s next phase of growth.

Outside of her corporate career, Kramer serves on the board of the Ad Council and has been listed among Forbes’ Most Influential CMOs for three consecutive years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
