CARS24 Acquires Vehicle Info to Expand Ownership Services

Share post:

CARS24 has acquired Vehicle Info as part of its strategy to build a comprehensive vehicle ownership platform in India. The move is aimed at expanding services beyond buying and selling vehicles and addressing everyday requirements of vehicle owners.

The acquisition reflects the company’s effort to create a full-stack ecosystem that covers the entire lifecycle of vehicle ownership. With this addition, the platform is expected to offer services that assist users not only during vehicle transactions but also throughout the period of ownership.

In India, vehicle owners often depend on several digital platforms to manage different aspects such as insurance validity checks, traffic challan payments, FASTag balance monitoring and vehicle documentation. These fragmented processes have created demand for integrated digital solutions.

Vehicle Info was developed to simplify these tasks by bringing multiple services into a single mobile application. The platform allows users to access vehicle-related data and complete several administrative tasks through one interface.

Platform Expansion

The acquisition signals CARS24’s intention to expand deeper into the mobility services ecosystem. By integrating the features offered by Vehicle Info, the company aims to support daily vehicle management needs alongside its existing marketplace services.

Following the transaction, Vehicle Info will continue to function as a standalone application with its existing team. At the same time, its features and technology will gradually be connected to the wider CARS24 platform.

Such integration is expected to allow users to manage activities such as document verification, insurance renewals and FASTag recharges while also using the platform for buying or selling vehicles.

Industry observers note that mobility companies are increasingly exploring platform-based models that combine vehicle transactions with post-purchase services. This approach aims to strengthen long-term user engagement.

App Capabilities

Vehicle Info was founded in 2017 in Surat by Chirag Pipaliya. The application provides digital tools that help vehicle owners access registration details, check traffic violations and pay pending challans through a mobile interface.

The platform also enables users to renew vehicle insurance policies and recharge FASTag accounts. Additional features include tools that estimate resale value of vehicles and provide preparation material for regional transport office examinations.

By consolidating multiple services, the app attempts to reduce the time and effort required by vehicle owners to manage compliance and administrative processes.

The integration with CARS24 is expected to expand the reach of these features while allowing the larger platform to offer a broader range of digital services to its users.

About CARS24

CARS24 was founded in 2015 by Vikram Chopra, Mehul Agrawal, Ruchit Agarwal and Gajendra Jangid. The Gurugram-based company operates a technology-driven marketplace for buying and selling pre-owned vehicles.

In addition to vehicle transactions, the platform offers services such as financing options, vehicle inspections, doorstep delivery and assistance with documentation and registration processes.

Over the years, the company has expanded its services in an effort to simplify vehicle ownership and reduce friction in automotive transactions. The acquisition of Vehicle Info represents another step in that direction.

As the mobility sector continues to evolve in India, digital platforms are increasingly focusing on integrated services that combine vehicle marketplaces with everyday ownership utilities. The latest acquisition highlights CARS24’s efforts to position itself as a comprehensive digital platform for vehicle owners across the country.
