Blinkit and Airtel Partner for 10-Minute SIM Card Delivery

Share post:

In a major step to make mobile connections faster and more convenient, Blinkit has partnered with Airtel to deliver SIM cards to customers’ homes within just 10 minutes. Blinkit, the quick commerce brand owned by Zomato, has partnered with telecom giant Airtel to introduce this rapid delivery option to users across 16 Indian cities. The service comes with a small convenience fee of Rs 49 and promises to save customers time and effort.

Quick SIM Card Delivery Now Available in 16 Major Cities

The 10-minute SIM card delivery service is already live in Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Sonipat, Ahmedabad, Surat, Chennai, Bhopal, Indore, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Lucknow, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. Blinkit and Airtel plan to expand this service to more cities and towns in the coming months. This partnership allows users to quickly get a new SIM or port their existing number to Airtel without visiting a physical store.

Customers Can Choose Prepaid or Postpaid Plans

Once the SIM card is delivered, customers can activate their number using a simple Aadhaar-based KYC process from their home. This means no store visits and no paperwork. Customers will be able to select from prepaid and postpaid plans or use the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) option to switch to Airtel from their current provider. The activation process is designed to be smooth, fast, and easy through a step-by-step online video.

Blinkit handles the fast delivery while Airtel focuses on ensuring the activation process is convenient and user-friendly. The SIM must be activated within 15 days of delivery to ensure proper functioning. All Airtel customers can use the Airtel Thanks App for help or questions during the activation process.

Leaders Share Their Thoughts on Partnership

Albinder Dhindsa, CEO of Blinkit, shared the update on X (formerly Twitter), saying that this collaboration with Airtel was launched to save customers both time and hassle. He emphasized the ease of home delivery, self-KYC using Aadhaar, and the flexibility of choosing prepaid, postpaid, or porting plans.

Siddharth Sharma, CEO of Connected Homes and Director of Marketing at Airtel, also commented that simplifying customer lives is a key focus at Airtel. He expressed excitement about the partnership and confirmed plans to expand the service to more locations over time.

This partnership between Blinkit and Airtel marks a new beginning for how telecom services are delivered in India. By combining fast delivery with a simple online activation, the two companies aim to create a seamless and modern customer experience.
